The hotel is housed in “ La Casona Thomsen” ,which was built in 1934 by Mr Peter Thomsen (it's owner at that time) and the renowned local bricklayer Luis Willems. The house has 2 floors and a basement where they used to store coal for the heating system. The house has been completely renovated in the last years and the old basement was turned into a dining room and multipurpose room of our hotel.
The house has been incorporated as part of our regional architectural heritage because of its construction style, where masonry is in view. The house was built using bricks from the Marcou factory, whose owner was the french pioneer Alejo Marcou whom installed in the late nineteenth century a well-known brick industry in the region.
In its roofs you can see beautiful prints of that time. The floor was made of parquet flooring which it is still preserved in perfect conditions.
